This week we put our effort into our tart cherries. We picked, pitted, made pie filling and bottled it:
We also found some time to visit the Taylorsville Days parade. We had cold pizza for breakfast and Lydia would not relinquish her hold on that piece of pizza until we started offering her candy.
After that, it was time to repair some damage to our poor plum tree that was split by the wind storm on Friday. Jared was grumbling because we finally had to break down and buy a chain saw. Our chipper/leaf vacuum we bought last fall sure came in handy. We made most of the smaller branches into mulch for our garden. It is amazing how little space that much tree takes up once it is broken into little pieces.
The storm was really blowing, but what a pretty rainbow it produced!
Our project next week is our sweet cherries, so if you want some, come and get them!
One more note is that the apricots are starting to yellow, so it will only be a couple more weeks until they are ready as well.
