Merry Christmas!

Posted by Colleen

Christmas Eve, we got together with my family at our house and made gingerbread houses. You should have seen our kitchen! There were little kids and candy scattered everywhere.  As soon as we were finished, Ben wanted to start eating it.

That evening, Jared made me a delicious dinner of shrimp, steak, cheese and potato soup, and rolls.  It was awesome!

We made it to Jared's grandpa's house for a while and then headed to my parent's for the annual reenactment of the nativity.  Lydia and Ben made the cutest shepherds ever!

We are the best procrastinators. We started this project a week before Christmas. It is a child's table with box seats that fit under it. The lids on the seats lift up to reveal a storage area. Of course we didn't have time to paint it, so we will post more pictures when it is finished.

I think Ben is still slightly asleep in this picture.  He hasn't started tearing into the packages yet.

Lydia was more interested in her old toys than opening new ones.  We had to work pretty hard to get her to open them.

She really enjoyed something that I pulled out of my stocking.  It has become somewhat of a tradition for Jared to give me raspberry filled donuts in my stocking for Christmas.  Ben, who loves donuts, won't touch them, but Lydia and I devoured them within two days.
